HireA.Tech, LLC (“HireA.Tech,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates an automated marketplace that connects consumers seeking home-service work (“Customers”) with local trade professionals (“Pros”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our website, telephone line, text messaging, and related services (together, the “Service”).
Information we collect
- Contact details you provide: name, phone number, email address, and service ZIP code.
- Service request details: the trade you need (e.g. HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing) and a description of your issue.
- Pro account details (for trade professionals): business name, contact information, service area, trades, and ratings.
- Call and message data: when you call our line, we process a transcription of the call to route your request and may retain a recording and processing record for quality, troubleshooting, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. When you opt in to text messaging, we process the content of those messages.
- Payment data (for Pros): we use a third-party payment processor (Stripe) to handle credit purchases. We do not store full card numbers.
- Technical data: basic device, log, and usage information collected when you use our website.
How we use your information
- To match and connect you with a local trade professional.
- To contact you about your service request by phone, email, or text.
- To process Pro lead purchases and maintain lead-credit balances.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our platform.
- To maintain records of how each request was handled, including for dispute resolution and legal holds.
- To comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
Phone and SMS data
Text messaging is opt-in. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or get help by replying HELP. See our SMS Terms for full details. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share mobile opt-in data or SMS consent with third parties for their own marketing.
How we share information
When you request service, we share the details necessary to fulfill that request (such as your name, phone number, ZIP code, and issue description) with the local professional we connect you to. We also use service providers — for example, cloud hosting, telephony/transcription, communications, and payment infrastructure — that process data on our behalf under contract and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We may disclose information when required by law, to enforce our terms, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public. We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention & legal holds
We retain personal information, including call recordings and lead-handling records, for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal, accounting, dispute-resolution, or reporting requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymized. Where information is subject to a legal hold or an open dispute, we retain it until the hold is released.
Your choices & rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may object to or restrict certain processing, by contacting us. You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. We will honor verified requests as required by applicable law; some information may be retained where we have a legal basis or obligation to keep it.
Children's privacy
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
